This last week was big!
On Monday I found out I made the finals for the CFDA Fashion Fund competition. I was dropping my son off at school, I got out of the car to walk him accross the parking lot and in the 3 minutes I was without my phone I had missed a call from Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA!!! The call I had been waiting for! Long story short - I made it! It is so exciting!
Just making it to the finals feels successful, although I am completely excited for all of these next moments still to come. That next thing is a trip to NYC (I leave this Monday!) to present myself in person to the panel of CFDA judges. I will present a series of looks on a Muse and share about me and my company. And that evening is a cocktail party to celebrate the beginning of this process!
To get this far, there has been a lot of writing and a large portfolio project submission. A lot of being open about my business, where it has been, where it is and where it's going. I really enjoyed putting the portfolio together, it was A LOT of work, but honestly, nice to take time and really reflect on where I am. And who I am.
When I left the office Friday, the ladies had a little surprise waiting for me and surprised me with a champagne toast! 1. How sweet and fun 2. I am nothing without all of the help and support I get from these amazing women around me, who work for me. I'm so excited to continue to be in this unfolding, there is so much amazing stuff to come.
